We were walking around the neighborhood and wanted to sit and watch some of the Philly 10K. It was early enough on a beautiful Sunday so we lucked out and got outdoor seating. I got the Three Egg omelette which was very good. My side of andouille sausage was the highpoint of the morning. Mrs. U ordered the Oatmeal blueberry pancakes which she thought was fluffy, fruity but a bit gritty. Service was ok. We'd go back.

+ Seated right away on a busy Sunday morning? + Great menu of diner favorites and specials? + The most delicious fresh squeezed orange juice? + Sourdough toast? Yes please to all! I had been wanting to try this great spot after bemoaning Philly's lack of respect for diner culture. I so badly miss popping into a great diner for a greasy breakfast on a Sunday morning (aka my version of church) and was on a mission to right that wrong. Fitzwater Cafe fits the bill perfectly and I will order the frittata probably every single time I go. Totally indulgent with cheese and veggies and served with rosemary potatoes that were some of the best breakfast potatoes I've had in a minute. Your mileage may vary here. A few things that were less than optimal: + Food did take a bit longer than you would expect. Our waitress said there were a number of large parties ahead of ours that lead to the backup which I appreciated. + Stool seats at the bar aren't the coziest. + My boyfriend's scrapple croissant on special was really good but not something he'd go for again. I had a bite and agreed it was a little too mealy/rich a sandwich to enjoy. + I would avoid the specialty coffee drinks and go for your standard diner coffee. Espresso was burnt and bitter. But do NOT skip the orange juice! Best $5 i've spent in a minute. Diner lovers unite!

There is something about a quaint local breakfast diner where a cute older lady, who has probably been working there for a decade plus, is coming around every few minutes with a big coffee pot asking if you want a refill on your $2.75 coffee that comes in a thick ceramic cup while you are waiting for your short stack of buttermilk pancakes that will forever hold a special place in my heart........ Okay, I will concede that was a BRUTAL run on sentence ahahaha but it came from my soul so I'm gonna let it rock. Anyways, Fitzwater Cafe is exactly this. We arrived on a cold Saturday morning to a packed house, but still got a seat immediately. After delayering and taking in the well lit interior, it flashed me back to better days. My brother, dad, and I used to LOVE places like this. Still do really. No frills, no flash. Just good people, good food, and good energy. I told my girlfriend like 9 times "My brother would LOVE this place" ahahaha she was probably so off me. I went with the Two Eggs Your Way with a side of Turkey bacon and an order of buttermilk pancakes because I'm an ANIMAL. My pookie-boobear-bubba-buttercup princess got an egg white omelette and I immediately said "That's what my dad would get!"..... ahahaa I gotta chill sometimes smh. I'm like a puppy when I get excited about little dumb stuff. Everything was delicious with the pancakes being the highlight, obviously. I rarely get pancakes, but at places like this I feel like it's a requirement. Needed to walk it off after tho ahahaha I was on a full belly. Being from Los Angeles and living in New York now, these places are a dying breed. An authentic, united community feel. Employees are smiling, happy to be here. You can hear strong local Philly accents talking about how they need to fire Siriani and they think the Eagles will lose to the Bucs..... they did :(. But it's all good, stop running a QB Draw and tell Jalen Hurts to put all that energy he spends looking pretty into hitting a hot route on a blitz and it's all good. All this to say, it's places like these that show the true character of local communities. THANK YOU FITZWATER I'LL SEE YOU SOON! GO BIRDS! IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov__

Stopped at this local breakfast spot on the way home to Jersey and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. My husband and I both had the potato and egg sandwich with long hots (he had bacon in his) which was recommended by executive chef and general manager who also humbley works the counter. Food was simply outstanding. We also had the fresh squeezed orange juice, which they juice fresh to order in this cool machine! We will definitely be back next time we visit Philly !

Was in philly for the new years weekend and my hubby found this place. They dont take reservations but the wait for our table of 7 wasnt too bad. Once we were seated the waiter took our drink order immediately. The place is on the smaller side but we got a table in the back corner which was perfect since my 2 year old likes to move around. The food was beyond delicious. We ordered Creme brulee french toast, shrimp benedict and the fritata. Everything was yummy. The eggs benedict were not as runny as I like but still tasted great. If we're ever in philly again we might have to go back

Adorable breakfast spot that gets super busy on the weekends. We came in for a weekday breakfast and got seated right away in the window. Service was great and the food was spectacular. They have a weekday deal for $10 breakfast and coffee, my partner went with a bagel sandwich and I got the frittata (not a special). It was sooo good, the bagel was perfectly chewy and delicious, the egg was over easy and definitely made a mess but worth it. The house potatoes are crazy good, I would go back just for that. The frittata was loaded with meat and veggies and a generous amount of cheese. I've had better coffee, that's my only negative comment.

This was a nice little find. Everything we had in our party was amazing. It all had a Great presentation and amazing taste. The ambience in this restaurant is wonderful. Cute little bar to sit at or table seating. They actually do have a small parking lot. Which is wonderful. If the parking lot is full it's a little more difficult to find parking on the street.

Quaint, local neighborhood spot. We made it right before the rush and found a spot at the counter. This place gets very busy. Very efficient, like a well-oiled machine. Employees move about in harmony. I had pancakes. No complaints. Simple, quick meal.
